Can you cut the gras with a scythe? Have you ever "washed
gold" or painted porcelain? Or would you rather brew your own beer
and taste sour Bratwurst? Do you want to enjoy a bath in a natural mud bath? Or
would you like to burn pitch? We are also a coal region! And you can cross
several rivers with just one jump since the rivers Saale, Eger, Naab and
Main have its source in this area. By the way: This area is rich in stones and
rocks - even the "richest" in all of Bavaria.
You should get
to know us. Even a popular German television soap has taken some shots in this
area. But the Fichtelgebirge has to offer much more. This mostly undiscovered
area without mass tourism which compares favourably with other regions in
respect to quality is a hot tip among insiders.
The Fichtelgebirge, an
attractive and unique area, favourably situated as
regards transport facilities in the midst of Germany, offers a natural and varied countryside. There
are only few areas in Europe left which are as unspoilt and tree-covered as the
Fichtelgebirge which is also largely closed for traffic.
Tourism has a long
tradition here. And remember: tourism not mass tourism.
