Mountain bike tours
Fichtelgebirge, this means beautiful
countryside. There you will find mountains, a park-like scenery with shady
forests and peaceful valleys. The mountain Schneeberg with the highest summit is
1054m in height. Far up to the round hilltops you find a dense network of trails
with scenic views and country-style pubs and inns while passing the sources of
the rivers Saale, Eger, Naab and Main.
The central starting point, at the foot of the mountain Ochsenkopf, is Fleckl, the highest village part of the municipal district of Warmensteinach. From this point you may start the most interesting trips to the mountains and summits of the vacation area "Hohes Fichtelgebirge": Ochsenkopf, Seehaus, Schneeberg, Kösseine, Nußhardt, Königsheide, Waldstein and Rudolfstein. The villages Warmensteinach, Bischofsgrün and Fichtelberg at the foot of the mountain Ochsenkopf are the most significant tourist centres. But the most beautiful places of the Fichtelgebirge are, of course, off the tourist track: you will find village squares, small museums, traditional inns and farms all over the place - and traditional dishes as roast pork with dumplings at a fair price. As all over the Fichtelgebirge area, board and lodging are extremely low-priced. Tourism has a long tradition in this area - remember: tourism but not mass tourism.

Directly
from your accommodation you swing yourself into the saddle and off it goes on
one of the numerous forest trails. The network of trails and paths is virtually
endlessly. Steep ascents or more relaxed tours - our routes are designed for
bikers of all physical abilities, be it families with children or more ambitious
bikers. Day trips can be arranged according to individual tastes and abilities.

from your accommodation.
