childrens' holiday programme of Warmensteinach

Hello kids, ......

if you want to spend some exciting and funny holidays which are not boring at all, then come to me and the "forest dwarfs" in the village Warmensteinach. I grew up in the vacation area "Hohes Fichtelgebirge" and can therefore talk about and show you many interesting things.

So that you won't get bored we have founded the "Club of the Forest Dwarfs". We meet every day and will have exciting adventures together. Look at the following pages where you can see which activities we have to offer.

On sunny days
we will have a picnic on our  backpack-tour or we hike up to the mountain Ochsenkopf
no car will cross our way on our bicycle tour on forest rails 
the cracks among you can compete with each other playing streetball, soccer, badminton etc.
we have to take a shower after a mud bath in the the natural forest pool in Fleckl 
we will get to know the sheperd and his flock of sheep
we will enjoy sweet honey at the bee-keeper  and will learn how honey is produced
we will help to harvest the hay and feed cows, horses, chickens and rabbits at a farm  
we will go berry-picking and make jam or bake a cake of the berries
we will learn how brooms are made and about other traditional craft skills at the farmhouse museum 
we will go camping and grill hot dogs at the camp fire 
forester Bernhard will show us his forest and we will learn about all trees and plants and gather rocks and roots in order to make things out of them
we will build a dam across the pond "Salzweiher" or we  wash gold at the "Bocksgraben"
we will organize a race with little boats or rafts which we have made ourselves
we will live in forest huts made of brushwood (again made ourselves) 
we can paint the "largest picture in the world" at the village square

On rainy days (although we don't really have bad weather)
we have fun in the gymnasium: games of skill - relay race - table tennis - dart - soccer - Völkerball (a kind of volleyball)- basketball and much more
we will visit the fire brigade where you will learn how to deal with the fire extinguisher, including a ride in the fire engine
the mayor will hold a reception in the town hall, he will show us how he "governs" and we will get a little present of him
we will visit a glass factory and learn more about the work of glass blowers and glass grinders 
we do pottery and make things out of clay, salt paste or materials which we have gathered before
we participate in a painting contest and, hopefully, receive a prize
we are especially inventive when it comes to playing, playing, playing .......
we can participate in the rehearsal of the folk-dance group

We will also have fun on a hiking tour with lanterns, the treasure hunt, the fun Olympics or the ride with a horse-drawn carriage.

If you want to get to know all of this and have a lot of fun please come to visit us. We meet every Monday at 10.00 a.m. in the "Freizeithaus" of Warmensteinach with all the other kids and discuss our plans for the week: excursions, adventures and games. If you cannot come on Monday, we meet every day at 10.00 a.m. at the "Freizeithaus".

Don't forget to pack appropriate clothes (rubber boots, raincoat)- we are on tour no matter how the weather is like! And don't think you are too small or even too old for us, we have something in store for everyone (there are small and big forest dwarfs!!!)
